Tech Coast Angels Mentorship Program Application

Application Instructions

  1. 1. Complete Phase 1 of the Mentorship Application by May 7, 2007.

  2. 2. You will receive a response by May 21, 2007. Your application will be evaluated on the following criteria:
    1. Commercial potential
    2. Appropriate fit with TCA expertise

  3. 3. Those applicants that are accepted into the next phase of the mentorship program are required to complete Phase 2 of the application by June 8, 2007 to be eligible for mentorship.

  4. 4. Mentorship is customized to the needs of the participant, and therefore will be unique for each case. The mentorship consists of up to 3 sessions with a TCA member to discuss topics specific to the current state of your technology and company development.

We will keep this in mind when reviewing the application. (please limit to approximately 500 words each)

Application - Phase 2 (Deadline: June 8, 2007)

  1. 1. Complete an Invention Report for your technology.
    Invention Report website: www.research.ucla.edu/oipa/files/invention_report.doc.

  2. 2. Discuss your invention report with your faculty advisor and complete the Informed Participation Form.
    1. a. Faculty may contact Vice Provost Atchison at katchison@resadmin.ucla.edu to discuss any questions.
    2. b. All technology developed in a university laboratory, or developed using university funds must be disclosed through the OIPA before discussing with an outside party.
    3. c. Students who develop an invention independently should file an invention report to OIP and request review for a university Nonassert.

  3. 3. Submit the invention report and Informed Participation form to the UCLA Office of Intellectual Property (OIP):
