Cafe by the SEAS

The Cafe was founded in 1946 as a small part of the Engineering student lounge. It soon after separated into a small store, still owned by the Engineering Society, and moved to it's present location (5800W Boelter Hall) in 1993. The fifth floor of Boelter Hall is the "ground floor" if you are coming from the Court of Scinces (see map).

The Cafe provides snacks, coffee, and other food items at lower than normal costs. What profits the Cafe does make directly fund the activiites of the Engineering Society, such as projects (human powered vehicle, concrete canoe, robot wars, etc), ESUC trips (Hoover Dam, Magic Mountain, the Grand Canyon, etc) and the student groups or tech-comms (ASCE, ASME, IEEE, etc). We are actually not a part of ASUCLA (and subsequently do not accept Bruin Gold). Like I said, the Engineering Society runs the Cafe, and they reap the benefits. But Our Customers tend to appreciate our low prices.

Our Customers usually give us the ideas for new products. If you have such a suggestion, or any other comments, email the Cafe Manager: Brian Ewing.
