The accreditation of Materials Science and Engineering departments falls under ABET, which is a federation of professional and technical societies.  ABET accreditation is assurance that a college or university program meets the quality standards established by the profession for which it prepares its students.

Currently, these quality standards involve extensive curriculum evaluation and improvement. The input of students, alumni, employers, and external advisors is necessary for MSE at UCLA to continuously evaluate and enhance the quality and scope of our program.  Any input that you have to assist us in this respect should be directed to Professor J.M. Our evaluation also includes a survey that can be accessed at the link below.  The survey requests that you provide numeric responses to rate and weight the importance, relevance, and effectiveness of different components of our educational program.
