  If your username is the same on that remote machine, > ssh hostname If your username is different on that remote machine, > ssh hostname -l username The first time you connect to a machine, you will see: Host key not found from the list of known hosts. Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? Enter yes to continue connecting.

• Example: how to use sftp

  sftp eelab.ee.ucla.edu password: sftp> cd testdir sftp> get testfile testfile | 0 kB | 0.0 kB/s | TOC: 00:00:01 | 100% sftp> quit sftp testuser@kelton testuser@kelton's password: sftp> cd testdir sftp> ls testfile.tar.bz2 testfile2.tar sftp> bin sftp> get testfile.tar.bz2 sftp> quit
