SecurID Card Changes (1/09)

Once you have picked up your new securID card, you can ONLY use the old card to telnet to skipper. Your new card and pin should be used to connect to the EA web reports and shared drives.

LOGIN TO SERVER
old securID card new securID card
  • use telnet client to connect to skipper (shortcut on desktop of supported machines)
  • use ssh program (supported program is PuTTY) to connect to eastaff.ea.ucla.edu
  • approximately 50 machines on domain already have the software and shortcut link on desktop (look for connection to "eastaff")
  • commands are identical with exception of users with access to "info" command - new command is "empinfo"
  • staff are going out to those machines that need a manual install of the software

SHARED DRIVES
old securID card new securID card
  • click on desktop link to shared drive
  • enter username
  • enter password, a space, and your passcode
  • currently no changes to procedure but you must use your new card to login once you have received it

EA WEB REPORTS
old securID card new securID card
  • go to EA web reports
  • enter username
  • enter password
  • enter passcode from securID card
  • go to EA web reports
  • enter username and password in popup window
  • username is prepopulated so you just need to enter pin and passcode (no spaces) in the web browser
  • PROCEDURE AS OF 01/19/09
  • go to EA web reports
  • enter username, password, then pin and passcode (no spaces) in the web browser
