Boeing Scholarship
Deadline: 5 PM Thursday, March 7th, 2013Details:
Boeing has donated a scholarship for $500. This scholarship is for SWE members ONLY! Student must have interest in pursuing the defense, space, and/or security industry, relate your essay to this topic as well.
The eligibility requirements are:
- Woman
- Aerospace Engineering preferred
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Demonstrated financial need
- Participates in extra curriculum activities, groups or organizations (related to engineering) on or off campus (preferably in a leadership role, but not required). Proven ability to work in teams.
- Sophomore or Junior class level
- Submit a resume, summary of extra curricular involvement in table format, and a 1 page essay describing your relationship to the field of engineering and extra curriculum involvement to SWE UCLA swe@seas.ucla.edu.
L-3 Communications Scholarship
Deadline: 5 PM Sunday, February 24th, 2013Details:
L-3 Communications has donated a scholarship for $500. This scholarship is for SWE members ONLY!
The eligibility requirements are:
- Woman of African American, Hispanic, or Native American descent
- Any engineering discipline
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Demonstrated financial need
- Participates in extra curriculum activities, groups or organizations (related to engineering) on or off campus (preferably in a leadership role, but not required)
- Freshman or Sophomore class level
- Submit a resume, summary of extra curricular involvement in table format, and a 1 page essay describing your relationship to the field of engineering and extra curriculum involvement to SWE UCLA swe@seas.ucla.edu.
Northrop Grumman Scholarship
Deadline: 5 PM Sunday, February 24th, 2013Details:

- Woman
- Electrical engineering, communications systems & theory, software, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science only
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Demonstrated financial need

SWE-UCLA Scholarships

SWE at UCLA will be contributing two $1000 scholarships! This scholarship is for SWE members ONLY!
The eligibility requirements are:
- Woman
- All engineering majors welcomed
- GPA of 3.3 or higher
- Demonstrated financial need
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills in extra curriculum activities, groups or organizations (related to engineering, preferrably involvement in SWE) on or off campus
- Sophomore to Senior class level
- Submit a resume and summary of extra curricular involvement in table format to SWE UCLA swe@seas.ucla.edu.
- Selected students will be asked for a phone or in-person interview follow-up.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in collaboration with the National Science Foundation (NSF) is proud to host the 2013 Louis Stoke Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Research Experience. This summer research program for undergraduate students brings together underrepresented minority undergraduate students in the STEM fields from various national universities to experience laboratory research under the mentorship of premier Rensselaer faculty.
This eight week program is designed to help curious and solution-oriented students gain confidence in the lab, develop enthusiasm for graduate school, cultivate a professional network, and earn attractive qualifications. Participants will also participate in professional development activities. Rensselaer is located in upstate New York, 110 Eighth Street, Troy, NY 12180. "
