Information on the Second Midterm Exam (5/23/02)
As announced in class, the second midterm to be held on Thursday,
May 23, 2002
will cover all material from the beginning of the quarter
but there will be an emphasis on material covered since the first
midterm.
This new material includes streamlines, streaklines, and pathlines,
volume and mass rates of flow, Reynolds' transport theorem,
conservation of mass (integral and differential forms), and
conservation of momentum (integral form, Euler's equations, use
of Bernoulli's
equation along a streamline, and the Navier-Stokes equations), i.e.,.
material completed on Thursday, 5/16/02.
The introductory material on conservation of energy will NOT be covered
on this exam.
An outline of the topics of focus will also be presented in class on
5/21/02; please also consult the
course outline for details.
The exam is open to
ONE PAGE (8 1/2" x 11", two sided) of notes written in your OWN HANDWRITING.
