Overview of Liao Lab Research

Our research focuses on intracellular regulation and metabolism at the systems level. We use metabolic engineering,synthetic biology, and systems biology principles to produce next generation biofuels. We develop novel gene-metabolic circuits for use in bioenergy research. We also investigate fat metabolism in hepatocytes and nitric oxide signaling in both human and bacteria.
