Some opportunties exist for highly motivated undergraduates interested in research in the area of hydrology and water resources. For more information contact Dr. Steve Margulis. M.S. Graduate Assistantships. Limited funding exists for M.S. students who are interested in pursuing the M.S. thesis option. Preferred applicants will have a background in applied math, engineering, or hydrologic science with strong analytical and computer programming skills. The Margulis research group in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UCLA has research assistantship positions for students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Hydrology and Water Resources. Opportunities exist for qualified students in the areas of land-atmosphere modeling, optimization of rainfall-runoff models, remote sensing, and data assimilation. Preferred applicants would have a B.S. or M.S. degree in engineering, hydrologic science, or a related field with strong analytical and computer programming skills.
