Adding a caption to images

  1. Login to Wordpress
  2. Go to the page you want to add a caption to an image.
  3. Click "Edit Page" in the black bar at the top.
  4. Use visual editor mode.
  5. Insert the image (Add Media), if not already there, to the proper area of the page.
  6. Only read and follow the instruction in the section "Within Posts" at https://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-settings. (Note that all other methods will not work.)
  7. You cannot add a caption to featured images by default.

Adding a caption to featured images

By default, featured images are placed at the beginning of single post pages. You cannot add a caption to featured images by default.

  1. Email your CMS helpdesk to disable "Place Thumbs on Posts" (Appearance > Divi Theme Options > Layout Settings > Place Thumbs on Posts: This is Disabled)
  2. Once this is done, the featured images will no longer be displayed at the beginning of all single post pages.
  3. You will need to add the same featured image of each post to the post page itself by following the instruction in the section "Adding a caption to images" above.
