Electro-optical modeling of Nanopillar based Plasmonically Enhanced Photodetectors (NP-PEPDs)

[research]

Plasmonically enhanced absorption is modeled using full wave finite difference time domain (FDTD) simulations. These simulations guide the design of the optical antenna geometry for high efficiency plasmonic absorption.

Electrical modeling of nanopillar transport is done in collaboration with Professor Yuh-Renn Wu from National Taiwan University using 3D-Drift-Diffusion-Charge-Control (3D-DDCC) software.
